Best friends are important. They know you best, they support you when no one else will, and they love you unconditionally. Sometimes the only thing that makes sense is to cry with them. Here are 11 reasons why crying with your best friend can be a great idea:
-Their support has no limits.
-They’ll always be there for you, even when it feels like nobody else is.
-It’s the perfect time to gush about all of your feelings and get them off your chest so they don’t weigh on your mind any longer.
-Best friends have seen it all before and can give good advice or share their own similar experiences without judgment.
Buddies are a great place to unload pent-up stress from work or school with a few tears mixed in because they know what you’re going through and won’t judge you at the end of it–they just want to help make everything easier again! Sometimes crying helps us feel better after venting our frustrations
Reason #01: You get to complain about all of the terrible things happening in your life.
Reason #02: They will offer you a shoulder to cry on and tissues if necessary.
Enough said!
Reason #03: Crying feels good, sometimes it’s inevitable that we’ll be sad at some point or another.
Being able to let out our emotions is healthy for us, as long as they don’t become too frequent (every day) or too intense (when angry). In fact, crying can help release feelings like anger and frustration–and make you feel better afterward..usually :-) It also releases hormones that combat stress-related illness, according to an article by Dr. William Freydkin.
Reason #04: Crying releases toxins from the body.
Sometimes when we’re sad, our bodies are trying to release tears to cleanse us of this emotions-and again make you feel better afterward :-) . This is scientifically proven because crying helps remove cortisol and lactic acid–both stress hormones which build up in your system. These chemicals can cause headaches or stomachaches if they remain in place for a long time!
Allowing ourselves an emotional break (with someone who supports us) clears out all those toxic feelings that have been building up inside us. And as great as it feels to let them go, it’s also good for our physical health too! Doesn’t hurt anyone else either; everyone needs their “time out” sometimes.
So, next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or out of control emotionally, know that it’s totally natural to want to cry and the benefits you’ll get will be worth every tear!

A new study published in the journal Emotion reveals that people who express their emotions feel better than those who bottle them up.
The research followed college students for a year and found that participants expressed sadness or anger about once an hour – around 400 times over the course of a school year. Expressing these feelings also boosted self-esteem and life satisfaction levels by more than 30 percent compared to when they were bottling them up inside, say researchers at University College London (UCL) in the UK ..
In addition, crying can help lower stress hormones like cortisol while releasing neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine which give you a boost of happiness..
Plus it’s been scientifically proven that it’s easier to make friends with someone who is crying than one who is happy.

11 Mood-Boosting Benefits of Crying With Your Best Friend:
“Friendship and crying have an intimate connection.” -Deborah Tannen, author, and professor at Georgetown University. What better way to affirm that you’re close than by getting in touch with the raw emotions shared between two people? The power of friendship brings comfort when times are tough–whether they involve stressful work deadlines or personal crises. Here’s what’s in it for you:
When we have someone to cry with, our tears release stress hormones that are hard on the body. So when you’re crying and your best friend is there by your side, their presence can help reduce anxiety levels–a big relief!
It’s been said that a good cry allows us to get rid of old emotions from “deep within” so they don’t return again later. It also cleanses out clogged sinuses and prevents illnesses like sore throats or headaches.
Crying often releases endorphins which make us feel better about ourselves because these chemicals act as natural pain relievers and mood elevators (kind of like morphine). Crying makes people more sensitive to other people’s emotions, too. -Crying is an expression of vulnerability that can make us feel more connected to our friends and less alone in the world–even if we’re crying because something sad just happened! We all have a right to be emotional. -A good cry with a friend builds up trust between two people so they know that when one person needs help or support, the other will be there for them. This includes times when it’s not easy like during difficult life events like death or divorce; bullying from peers; isolation due to depression, etc. A sense of belonging and validation also provides relief from loneliness and hopelessness feelings often associated with mental illnesses such as PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Research has found that
