On today’s adventure in finance podcast is a guest blogger, David Viens, who is a co-founder of a software development firm. He is an expert in the area of software development, and he has been at his own firm for the past 5+ years.
His mission in this podcast is to give people a basic (but important) introduction to the basic concepts that he uses to conduct his own software development projects.
David has been using the same software for years, so that’s why it’s useful to teach the fundamentals of a software development process to a new audience of listeners. In this podcast he shares his knowledge of the topics covered in this podcast, and talks about some of his own projects.
David also talks about the things that he does to keep his business running smoothly, but his podcast is about how his company runs, not just in the current year, but in the past.

Davids podcast is an interview with the CEO of a high profile company, usually a multi-billion dollar company. The CEO interviews a number of business-related personalities and then they talk about how their company does things, what they do, what problems they have, and the business they solve. It’s a great way to learn about the companies that you work for, or the companies that other companies work with.
I don’t really care about this podcast, because frankly its a waste of my time. But I will occasionally listen just for the sake of it. Its about the company you work for, the problems the company solves, the business you work in, and the culture you create.
Our company does do a lot of things. We design, build, and support our products in a variety of ways. We’re a software company, we do web development, we do software development, we do game development, we do mobile development, and we’re also a financial services company. But we do a lot of stuff outside of that.
It’s not just our software that we do. We do a lot of everything. We’re the best at everything. We’re the best at building products, we’re the best at programming, we’re best at marketing, and best at selling. That’s why we did what we did. We can say that about a lot of people.
At the risk of sounding too cynical, the most successful companies in the world are the ones that do the most things well. When a company is good at everything, it’s very likely that they’ve developed it so well that it can do almost anything. Were one of the first companies to develop a new product, and the best at doing everything else. Thats exactly what we did. We were pioneers.
