Our business is international. Our clients come from all over the world. This means that our work is international as well which means that we are always in a different locale and different time zone. This creates a unique international business environment and one that we’ve been able to adapt to to the best of our ability.
This is why we were so excited when our friend and colleague Daniel Steeves offered to join us for a week of field work. He is a full-time international consultant with over 25 years experience in the field and he has a lot of experience in the UK. He is also a very good friend and so we spent a lot of time with him in London’s parks, at the office, and various locales throughout the UK and Europe.
We had a great week with him. A few of the days we spent with him included a day of bike riding in England, a day of boat trips, a day in London where he spent most of the day in the underground, and the most memorable day of all was a day that he spent in Londons parks. Daniel spent his days in parks, which he loved to do. He was a great guy, and he was a great addition to the team.
So I’m not here to say Daniel is a bad person, but he’s definitely not the best person for the job. He’s not really the best at his job. In fact, he has a very limited range of skills, and his personality could use some work. But he’s also very well-liked, is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in game development, and most importantly he’s really easy to work with.
Daniel is a fairly straight-laced guy, but he has a very sharp insight into the world of business and his clients. His clients are the best in business, and they can be a bit fussy about their demands. They may not always be a fan of a quick turnaround, but they will always find it easier to do business with a guy who understands how to get it done. If you hire him, make sure you also give him a little more freedom to do his job.
Yes, I know I’m a little vague here. I am not qualified to provide legal advice, and I have not studied business for decades. But I have a lot of experience of working with international consultants, and I’m confident that if you hire him, you are going to get the best work out of him.
I am not sure if that is necessarily a bad thing. I think hiring consultants for international business is a great way to make sure everyone has the same language, and that everyone knows what he/she is supposed to do and how to do it. But that is also a problem. There are so many consultants out there that it’s hard to know who to trust. I’ve had two international consulting firms that didn’t understand how the other side thought.
I think it is a good thing that we can hire consultants for international business, but it is a problem that consultants are not well trained when it comes to understanding the local language. There are so many languages and cultures out there that are often not taught in schools, and when they are, they are usually terrible at communicating. (This is especially the case with the different nationalities.
Unfortunately, foreign consultants tend to think that their own skills and language knowledge are enough to hire them on a project. But if you want to hire a consultant with a local language, you should hire a local consultant with a local language as well. They will bring a local perspective to the foreign perspective.
I’m not usually a fan of consultants, but for some reason I can’t stand the thought of a consultant who is more interested in his own ideas than in the project. A consultant is in fact a good guy. But one who is more interested in his own ideas and not the project is a disaster waiting to happen.
