Well said. It is a role that is very important. But the role of the manager is to make sure that you get rid of all the marketing people that are not working for you. This might be a good reason to go out of business.
I have a friend who has been on the marketing route for the past 7 years. But he is now worried about his next job and is considering going for career management. While I don’t agree with the entire concept of career management, I do think that most people would like to have the opportunity to work for themselves and not be beholden to a management company.
