Sandia’s recent move into the highly regarded position of a “technology company” (i.e., a company that provides software services to other companies) has taken it from a group that used to provide software services to other companies to a company that provides software development services.
Sandia is a company that makes software based on the technology from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The NNSA is a part of the Department of Energy (DOE), who has been a part of the United States for 100 years. The NNSA is responsible for the nation’s nuclear security. The NNSA’s programs are called “strategic nuclear arms reduction” and it is a part of the Department of Defense (DOD).
According to the official NNSA website, NNSA has a mission to “enhance the United States’ nuclear security, by reducing the proliferation of nuclear weapons to non-state actors and terrorists.” This mission is accomplished through the use of “non-traditional” security methods, such as using intelligence to detect and prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons to terrorist organizations and non-state actors.
The official website on NNSA says it is a part of the US Department of Defense. However, the organization seems to be much more than that.
This means that the only way to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons is by means of techniques like air-to-air missiles. The US is not the only country that is doing this. As a general rule, the entire US government is not allowed to do this. The US National Nuclear Security Agency is also subject to many rules and regulations.
